Update 19 - Drive Time and Distance Zones are here!

We’re excited to announce that update 19 allows you to generate drive time and distance zones, reimagines how you create radii, and more!

Want to see drive time or distance zones around your sites? Now you can!

There’s so much value to visualising drive time or distance zones. For example, if you want to see the reach of a potential new site, what does a 20-minute drive time zone look like? Does it offer good coverage in terms of the territory on offer? Does it overlap with a neighbouring site? Or would there be a better potential location?

These are questions that drive time/distance zones can start to provide quick and valuable answers to.

What are the key features?

We’re super proud of what we’ve created and are certain that you’ll love using it. It’s easy to use, fast, and is a great visualisation tool. Here are some of its strengths!

Create up to 5 zones at once (per site)

You can quickly create up to 5 individual zones around a site or location of your choice in one go. Furthermore, with a little bit of system administration, you can easily apply classification colours to these zones to generate a clear and insightful image of an area.

Overlapping or exclusive zones

We offer you the choice of whether you want Vision to create overlapping or exclusive zones. Which one is right will depend on what you’re trying to show. The images below show the differences.

Overlapping – Each zone is a complete area from the starting location.

Exclusive – Each zone represents an extension of smaller zones from the starting location.

Zone creation couldn't be simpler!

Creating the zones and locations is super easy! You have two options for creating your zones: You can create them from a search location, which can then be saved to a relevant layer if needed, or you can create them from existing locations already plotted in your Vision system.

We’ve also improved location markers, clustering, and the legend.

Update 19 also brings updated location markers. You can now hover over an individual location marker to see its name in a small pop-up dialogue box. The icons showing clustered locations and multi-locations have also been improved.

Lastly, the icons used to denote areas in the legend have been updated to look nicer.

Why not go even further and plot your customers?

You can harness even more information by plotting your customers' locations and combining this with the drive time/distance zones. This multi-layered view can provide valuable insight into franchisee and territory performance across your network.

Furthermore, if you can provide your customer data, we can create a new demographic telling you the revenue potential for every Postcode Sector in the country. It’s a real game changer when it comes to boosting franchisee performance and selling new territories.
