Importing is coming soon!
This update will make importing available to Atlas Mapping’s internal support team. This has two main benefits.
- The first is that customer import requests can be handled faster and more seamlessly.
- The second is that this is our way of testing the pants off it before we release it to our clients.
A word on importing
We know it’s been a long time coming, but when it comes to importing, there is more to it than just making that functionality available and saying, "Have at it" to our clients.
Whilst we’ve been involved up to this point, it means we’ve tackled the plethora of data issues that can come with customer data. These include problems such as bad geography or address data, missing data, poorly formatted data, or duplication of Postcodes across multiple franchisees, to name just a few.
We’ve been on hand to format, support, or provide advice on these issues to make sure you’re working with the best version possible, ensuring what’s in your system is as accurate and safe as we can make it from a legal point of view.
When we pass this over to you, our clients, that responsibility transfers to you. Of course, as we like to feel we’ve shown over the past 13 years, you’re not alone. We’ll create a suite of support articles and videos, and provide in-system feedback to make sure you have as much help as you need to handle it in the “Atlas Mapping way”.
After all that, if you get stuck or are struggling, our dedicated and fantastic customer support team will be on hand to help, whether via a ticket in the support centre, by phone, or by web meeting.
Removing external users
As part of this update, we will be removing external users. For any clients that currently use them, if they have been active in the system within the last 90 days, we will convert them to internal users. If you’re at your user limit, we’ll create them as “bonus” users for you 😊.
And don’t forget, external users are not the same as shares. You can still share as many territories with people as you like!
Simplifying user permissions
Having looked at the metrics, we may have overcomplicated user permissions. We are rectifying that with our new, super simple version.
We’ve removed all the individual data settings that were previously present, so now a user can be set as being able to export and or edit records and boundaries. You can still set them as view-only for specific layers in the system if you want, as you were able to do previously. The administration permissions are the same as before.
As you can see in the images below, the one on the left is the old and the new simplified version is on the right.
Any suggestions?
Please let us know if you have any suggestions or ideas about what you would like to see the system do in the future!
